Frosty Hollow FREEZE @ Well Strung
May 11th
It was opening day for the Frosty Hollow FREEZE in the 2019 USTA Season. The Freeze hit the road and made the trek to Lord Sterling Road in Washington Crossing, PA to take on Well Strung.
After missing out on the post season in 2018, the FREEZE are poised and energized to make the journey back!
The FREEZE walked into Opening Day with a chip on their shoulder on how the 2018 season finished. In their new FREEZE blue jerseys they gave team Well Strung and all the flies more than they could handle. It was an 8:30 a.m start on a chilly and buggy day.
The starters for the away team were;
Ian Blackman and Mike Herman for Singles!
Ashish Patel / Eric Ulzinow, Bill Burger / Bob Hawley, Dmitry Belov / Lance Shaffer for Doubles!
Mike Herman, making his FREEZE debut, put the FREEZE on the board first with 4 points. Belov / L. Shaffer added 3 more to that, to put the FREEZE up 7-0. Patel / Ulzinow powered for another 5 points. At this point, the score was 12-5 in the away teams favor. Burger / Hawley finished things off with another 4 points to make the final score 16-5! The FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin!
The FREEZE know very well that every point matters in every game to reach their goals. They are off to a solid start and they are excited to get in front of their home crowd for their Home Opener!
Go FREEZE Go!
