Game Recap:

Pennsbury Ballbusters at Frosty Hollow Freeze (June 20th)

It was a damp and muggy day as the Frosty Hollow Freeze welcomed the Pennsbury Ballbusters to town.  The Pennsbury Ballbusters were looking for revenge against the Frosty Hollow Freeze.  It was a good match where the home crowd applauded the team with delight.  The Frosty Hollow Freeze spoiled Pennsbury's attempt at redemption by shutting them out with a 5-0 score.  The brooms were out today with a sweeping motion.  The Frosty Hollow Freeze are now 8-1 this season.

The lineup that was put together was set for a successful day.  The Singles Positions were filled by, Ian Blackman and Serkan Uluturk.  The Doubles Positions were filled by, Bob Hawley and Ken Patterson, Bill Burger and John Sisti, and Carlos Araujo and Mike Bell.

Ian Blackman, who couldn't wait to get the match started, got the Frosty Hollow Freeze on the board in a hurried fashion by winning his court.  After the match, Ian talked about his bad foot and bad hip.  He stated that both his foot and hip hurt more than getting a root canal.  Overall, Ian worked hard and scored for the team with his commanding forehand.

Bill Burger and John Sisti worked hard to achieve their goal today.  They won their court and put pressure on their opponents.  Bill Burger stated, "I was bad last week but worse this week."  He actually played a couple of points with a broken string on his racquet.  John Sisti talked about the 'slice shots' during the match.

Bob Hawley and Ken Patterson took over on their court and played big in front of the net.  Bob and Ken, who are known as 'Long & Foster' when teamed up together, won their court.  When chatting about the match, Bob Hawley said, "It was fun."  Ken Patterson went on to talk how their opponents sliced and diced the ball.  He then added, "It was a good day to play.  It was humid outside."

Carlos Araujo, who was making his season debut today with Doubles Partner Mike Bell, teamed up for a hard working victory.  Even though down 5-2 in the first set, they came back to win in an enjoyable 2 setter.  Carlos hysterically stated, "Magic Mike stripped them down, all by himself, for a comeback win, and it all worked out."  Both players were impressive today and played with excitement.

Serkan Uluturk finished off the 5-0 sweep today by winning his court.  Serkan's wife/agent, said that both players lost about 2 pounds today.  The action on the court today was thrilling and enjoyable to watch.  Serkan has been eating a ton of pretzels and donuts from the Amish Market, so this match helped get him back into shape.  He worked extremely hard and gave it his all to produce and he did a great job today.

The Frosty Hollow Freeze are now 8-1 this season.  There is now only 1 game remaining in the USTA Season and it is going to have playoff implications.

The Frosty Hollow Freeze are going to be scoreboard watching this week, but have to handle their business at home as they finish off the season against the pesky BCRC bunch.  The entire season is going to come down to 1 game with the playoffs riding on it!  The Frosty Hollow Freeze want to have a big home crowd for this game and have that 'home court advantage' as they play one of the biggest games of the year.  The team wants the fans to come out loud wearing the team colors and cheer on the team to a victory and a slot in the playoffs!  The push for the playoffs is........................................NOW!
