Frosty Hollow Freeze at Bucks Pirates: June 4th
On a fine a.m. day, the Frosty Hollow Freeze headed on the road to Pirate territory as they went face to face with the Bucks Pirates. The birds were chirping for this 8:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time start. The smell of fresh grass and coffee was vivid as the Freeze took the outdoor courts in their Gray uniforms. This was sure a beauty. A light warm-up was in place for the Freeze players and then by game time they were ready for an action packed day. The Pirates beat up on the Freeze last, so the Freeze were definitely wanting payback. As the day went on, the weather got warmer and so did the Freeze. With the game tied up at one a piece, the Freeze ignited the crowd with a good heave ho! The Frosty Hollow Freeze stole the treasure on the road today and won by a tight score of 3-2. Ahoy Matey, it's barely noon time!
The Lineup that was sent out to capture the Pirate Ship today had big success. The Singles Positions were led by Ian Blackman and Ashish Patel. The Doubles Positions were led by Dave Kniaz and Eric Ulzinow, and Lance Shaffer and Mark Shaffer. The Freeze crowd cheered with delight.
Ian Blackman scored another point for Freeze with a court win. The word of the day today was 'breakfast'. Ian Blackman talked about going to Famous for breakfast since it was obviously breakfast time. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH everyone's getting hungry not only for food but for a Freeze win. Big wound up forehands and serves added to the excitement on court. After the match, Blackman commented, "I am ready for breakfast. When are we going"? Ian eats whatever he wants on Saturday's and wants to celebrate a win with a team breakfast and his personal chef approves. However, there is a Saturday coming up where the Freeze are going to have another a.m. start, so that might be a great time to have that breakfast. Ashish Patel, in his 'Polo shirt', didn't even need to step on the court to score for the team. Either the Pirate landlubbers didn't get the memo or their ship got wrecked.
On a Doubles court that featured Dave Kniaz and Eric Ulzinow, the players were working hard against some buccaneers from the Bucks Pirates. A match that consisted of two tie breaks had the crowd on the edge of their seats. When talking to the media, Ulzinow stated, "Just do it." A possible pitch for a new Frosty Hollow Freeze Nike commercial, so stay tuned for that! Kniaz said, "I hate losing two tie-breakers. But it was a good match." This was a fierce court but even some Pirate players were good gentlemen. During postgame interviews, a Bucks Pirate player talked about the Frosty Hollow Freeze's good team camaraderie and the Freeze team appreciated it. The Frosty Hollow Freeze definitely take pride in that and has a ton to do with their achievements.
A Doubles court that featured big net play was stationed by Lance Shaffer and Mark Shaffer. Lance and Mark won their court and scored for the Freeze. The match started off slow and then things got picked up with some extreme action close to the net. After the match, Lance stated, "We kept things real simple and tried not to give our opponents anything where they could jump on. Mark stated, "A fine team win." The fans were into the match all day!
The Freeze played a physical and smart tennis game today. At the end of the day, you always want to ask yourself and your teammates; Did you leave it all on the court today? For the Freeze, the answer is yes and they did work for it. A job well done by the Freeze.
Why are fish not good at playing Doubles in tennis? It might be because they don't like getting close to the net. Yo Ho Ho, Carlos Araujo sends the people home with laughter on a good day for the Freeze! Hey, Go Freeze Go!
