Frosty Hollow FREEZE @ TopSpin Blue

The Frosty Hollow Freeze packed up their cars and headed to the borough of Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania to take on TopSpin Blue on a scorching and sunlit day.  There were police officers directing traffic to the courts because of possible ticket fraud.

The College's original campus and surrounding community of Bryn Athyn were designed in 1893 by Charles Eliot of the firm Olmstead.  Olmstead and Eliot are the legendary firm responsible for the design of Central Park in New York City.  The College's 130-acre campus is undeveloped open land and has eight miles of trails following a creek through woods and fields.  Freeze player Dmitry Belov, "Where's the courts?  It's a farm."

As the players got to the courts, the fumes were vivid of the dislike between these two teams.  There were many Freeze players that feasted on peanut butter crackers for some energy in pre-game festivities.  During warm-ups, a scuffle almost broke out between a TopSpin player and Freeze player Shawn Gallagher.  Gallagher put the TopSpin player in his place and fired up the Freeze team which set the tone for the day.

The starting lineup for the Freeze was set with a smash.  The Singles positions were led by, Zach McGowan and Shawn Gallagher.  The Doubles positions were led by, Dmitry Belov and Bill Burger, Bob Hawley and Eric Ulzinow, and Mike Bell and Lance Shaffer.

A good crowd on hand for both teams made for exhilarating tennis action.  The home and away crowds were oooooooooooooooooohing and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhing with many points that took place.  Zach McGowan quieted the home crowd by beating down his opponent to score 5 points while shattering the net.  Bob Hawley and Eric Ulzinow bullied their opponents by adding another 4 points for the away team.  At this point, there was a frenzy in the bleacher seats with the Freeze up 9-0!  Dmitry Belov and Bill Burger worked great together and dealt with loud noises on the other side of the net after points won by TopSpin.  Shawn Gallagher worked hard at the Singles position and had good points back and forth.  Soccer balls were flying into the crowd to keep the crowd on their toes. The score was now 10-9 in TopSpin Blue's favor but then Mike Bell and Lance Shaffer added another 3 points to Freeze.  The home crowd went silent.  The FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN.  12-10.

With a win in this game, the Freeze pushed themselves up in the division but are currently out of playoff contention as we speak.  However, the wild card position is up for grabs but the standings are very close with points.  From now until seasons end, every game is pivotal while trying to earn as many points as possible to stamp a ticket to the playoffs extravaganza.  It is going to come down to the wire and the enthusiasm is building for this Freeze squad.

The Freeze are possibly set for a big two game weekend Home Stand coming up!  Tickets are available now but courtside seats are selling at a high speed.  The Freeze hit the practice courts this week to tune up so they are ready for the games.  If you have not been following this team, you might want to jump on board because they are looking to make a splash.  Go FREEZE Go!
