Frosty Hollow Freeze @ Causing A Racket:
The Frosty Hollow Freeze took to the road as they traveled to Morrisville Pennsylvania to take on Pennsbury Causing A Racket.
At the Free Agency Stop Point, the Freeze looked to add another piece to the team. The Freeze added Dave Leno; a good player and good team guy. He’ll fit in perfect with this team as they make their push to the playoffs.
This game might have been the most quietest game of this season because fans were not allowed in the stands. Both teams had to feed off their own energy and would not be able to rely on the crowd.
The Freeze sent their lineup out to the humid indoor courts at Pennsbury.
Position 1 Singles: Tarik Bassal
Position 2 Singles: Dave Leno
Position 1 Doubles Pair:
Bob Hawley / Eric Ulzinow
Position 2 Doubles Pair:
Dmitry Belov / Lance Shaffer
Position 3 Doubles Pair:
Carlos Araujo / John Sisti
As the weather picked up outside, the warmer it got inside. Big and giant garage doors were open for possibly more warmth.
The media and the team stated that this was a backwards day from the start with not much warm up time, no fans in the stands, and a hectic game time.
Tarik Bassal struck first and put the Freeze up 5-0. Dave Leno making his Freeze debut, forced his opponent into submission by scoring 4 points. Dmitry Belov and Lance Shaffer banged in another 4 points to keep the momentum. At this point the score was 13-5 and Carlos Araujo and John Sisti came in as the closers. They shut the door on Pennsbury and scored another 3 points.
The FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE WIN!
16-5.
There were reports from good sources that a team in the league is trying to pay other teams to throw matches so they could get into the playoffs. Also, it was reported from USTA that a team in very close contention with the Freeze, are doing everything in their power to look for free wins and forfeits in every way possible. Is this the same team? It has turned into a media frenzy. Words are being exchanged between teams but all of the nastiness is coming from other teams players and fans. It is said that the main reason this other team says nasty things about the Freeze players is because of pure jealousy of the team comraderie the Freeze have.
When speaking to the Freeze team, they know that is out of their control and must stay focused on the remaining games on the schedule. They must continue to stick up for each other and not let other teams take advantage with their words. Once you step onto the court on game day, it’s all business. The Freeze are going to stay focused on their playoff push and when it comes to gameday they plan on using their words and actions on them. When the teams meet, you could bet that the tension and the playoff atmosphere is going to be vivid.
The news around town is that as the Freeze continue to hit the practice courts during the week, the other team is counting their cash to hand out to other teams.
There is only three games in the season to go and the standings stay tight.
