BCRC Slammers @ Frosty Hollow FREEZE

May 18th (Official Home Opener)

It was the official 2019 Home Opener for the Frosty Hollow FREEZE as they welcomed the division rival BCRC Slammers to their new hard courts.  It was a beautiful day for tennis and the fans were packed in tight.  With the parking lot almost filled, valet parking was optional. 

​

After coming off an Opening Day win, the FREEZE were looking to continue their winning ways.  After an energized warm-up, the lineups were announced with satisfaction.

​

The starters for the home team were;

Playing the Singles Positions, #19 Ian Blackman and #33 Bob Hawley!

Playing the Doubles Positions, #11 Ashish Patel / #8 Eric Ulzinow, #42 Dmitry Belov / #26 Lance Shaffer, and #44 Bill Burger / #00 Seramil Acierto!

The home crowd was on their feet for most of the game as the entertaining action took place.

With the FREEZE trailing 3-0, Ian Blackman knocked out his challenger to put the home team in the lead (5-3).  The Slammers answered with their own authority to put themselves up 7-5.  The play was thrilling but the home team was now trailing 12-5 until Bob Hawley knocked out his challenger to make the score 12-9.

The Slammers got the best of the FREEZE on this day, winning 12-9 but every point matters to make that playoff journey.
