Frosty Hollow Freeze at BCRC: May 14th

On a Saturday afternoon, the Frosty Hollow Freeze headed on the road to take on BCRC. The game was played outside on gray Har - Tru courts which were surrounded by beautiful country acres. There were many different animals a distance away which could have been BCRC mascots but they didn't seem interested in tennis. The sun was out and the wind was swirling. The Freeze were lined up and poised to start. The Freeze gave a good effort but came up short as BCRC rolled at home and won by a score of 3-2 for a stomping good time. The Freeze were stranded in the country as the hay blew around them. They got their feathers ruffled and they now are 0-2 on the young season. The animals roared with delight for the hometown team; BCRC. This sure was a kick it in the sticks day.

The Lineup that was sent out to the country for this game was, Ian Blackman and Mike Bell for Singles, and for Doubles, it was Lance Shaffer and Mark Shaffer, Ashish Patel and Eric Ulzinow, and Dave Kniaz and John Sisti.

There were two BCRC players that didn't want to participate in fierce action so decided to stay off one of the courts which gave the Freeze a point.

On a Doubles court with Lance Shaffer and Mark Shaffer, the heat was high. A tight first set with many deuce points kept this court on a edge that was exciting. Heavy net play sparked the crowd and tuned up the players. Lance had a play where he went for a ball and started his slide on one court and ended up on another.

Another Doubles court was set by Ashish Patel and Eric Ulzinow. The court featured powerful net action and when Ashish and Eric were on serve, ya'll could hear the alligators running in the background to put on their bullet proof vests. The D pair served which such velocity that the other team couldn't make clear calls on points. What do you call an alligator with a vest? I guess you could call it an investigator and maybe that is what they needed on this court. Freeze player, Carlos Araujo gets credited with his always witty jokes.

On the two Singles courts, both Ian and Mike were giving it their all. Ian scored for the team in a strenuous and feisty 3 set country showdown. Ian used his powerful forehand to paint the lines to keep the cows away. Ian played a great match and worked hard for his team.

Overall, all the courts were energized and the Freeze crowd outdid the home crowd. Ya'll reckon, the Freeze are glad to head home and prepare for their 2016 Home Opener and have their home court advantage.
