Well Strung @ Frosty Hollow FREEZE

After a big shutout on Friday night, the Freeze had a fast turnaround on Saturday at 11:15 for a day game.  The Freeze welcomed Well Strung for a big rivalry game.  The weather was warm and humid as the players took the courts for warm-ups.  The fans were energized with the pre-game festivities.  Food and FREEZE posters were ready.  The Freeze were laced in their eagle greens for their final home regular season game in 2018.

A miserable Well Strung player had some nasty language to say to a member of the Freeze because of a tennis court issue, but the Freeze took out their anger while playing and let the Well Strung group use rude vocabulary towards them.  A brawl was possible but the Freeze knew they had to focus on getting a victory.  Well Strung has been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention and the Freeze knew the game did not really mean much to them, so maybe that is why some of their players were angry.

The Freeze kept their cool and sent their players onto the hard courts.  The starting lineup had Zach McGowan and Dmitry Belov on the Singles positions and had Bob Hawley and Eric Ulzinow, Ian Blackman and Lance Shaffer, and Carlos Araujo and Mike Bell on the Doubles positions.  As the players entered the playing courts in their positions, a spy from another team in the league was video recording team information for scouting purposes.

Zach McGowan put the Freeze up 5-0 by destroying his opponent.  Bob Hawley and Eric Ulzinow kept the streak going by adding another 6 points on their Doubles court.  As the game went on the score was 11-7 until Dmitry Belov determined himself to score some more by adding 4 points.  The Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin!    15-7.

The Freeze finished out their home stand in superb style by winning both games.  They pushed themselves to second place in the division and things are getting hot.  They are bidding for a wild card spot or 1st place in the division.  There are only two games to go in the regular season and the Freeze must win both games while earning as many points as possible to put themselves in the playoff dance.

The Freeze hit the road for the final two must win games of the season.  They want to have a good cheering crowd on the road so purchase your tickets now!

The season comes down to two games!   Do the Freeze have the skill and camaraderie to make a playoff push?  Be ready for the playoff atmosphere on Saturday!  The Freeze are hitting the practice courts to work on their games.  It is going to be intense!  Go FREEZE Go!
